In this handmade sculpture of Lord Shiva, known as Gajasurasamhara, he is depicted as dancing on the head of an elephant demon. The slain elephant's skin is arranged like a prabhamandala around him, with its tail protruding from Shiva's crown. His left leg rests on the head of the demon, while his right leg is raised in a bent posture. Gajasurasamhara is a fierce aspect of Shiva, also known as Gajasamhara, Gajantaka and Gajaha, and is said to be the Destroyer of the elephant demon Gajasura and the enemy of all elephants.
